IN CASE UNFAIR PLAY IS flagged
The following process will be followed to ensure Fair Play at Interschool Chess.
1. After each Tournament event is complete, Tornelo Fair Play technology will run a fair play report, analysing ALL games, which will raise or not the possibility that a player(s) may have used unfair external assistance.
2. In case a game is flagged as being outside the normal range of that player ability (please go to the Tornelo website for more technical information) the Parents and/or School Organiser will be notified. Please note, this information will NOT be shared publicly, the matter will be treated with the parent and school organiser only.
3. We realise that young players may occasionally make poor decisions, and so all players will be provided with the opportunity to either:
A) Admit to having received assistance:
B) Deny having received assistance and request further investigation take place:
The last thing we want is for players to be banned from participating in a sport they clearly enjoy and love. Our goal is to achieve fair play for everybody, so please, treat Interschool Chess as your own school community!

A) Admit to having received assistance:
- The player commits to playing future games without assistance, and the investigation ends here. The player is disqualified from that particular tournament (no player information will be publicly disclosed ever)
- In case of a subsequent offence, the player will be banned from Interschool Chess and Tornelo
B) Deny having received assistance and request further investigation take place:
- Games will be sent to 3 independent Expert Chess Coaches / Arbiters, where each coach will submit a viewpoint report
- If the panel of Arbiters/Coaches determines the player has, without a doubt, received assistance:
- All games in any event where even one single game was played with assistance will be forfeited (and rating points lost)
- The player may be banned from Interschool Chess and Tornelo
